Avenger played a rare hometown gig at Trillions in Newcastle on 15 June, supported by Sunderland-based power thrashers Risen Prophecy and local metallers Culloden. “Great gig, lot of fun,” is how drummer Gary Young described it. “We had a fantastic turn out and a very enthusiastic reception for all the bands. Loved every minute of it.” Avenger’s set was a pretty even split across all three albums with a cover thrown in to keep the punters on their toes: ‘Race Against Time’ / ‘Purgatory’ [Iron Maiden cover] / ‘Brand Of Torture’ / ‘Run For Your Life’ / ‘Fate’ / ‘Steel On Steel’ / ‘Death Race 2000’ / ‘In Arcadia Go’ / ‘Hard Times’ / ‘Victims Of Force’ / ‘Into The Nexus’ / ‘You’ll Never Take Me (Alive)’ / ‘Under The Hammer’ / ‘Enforcer’ / ‘Revenge Attack’

Recently re-issued by Dissonance are the two classic Avenger albums ‘Blood Sports’ and ‘Killer Elite’. Both feature previously unreleased bonus tracks and booklets full of rare photos of the band.

We are also proud to be making available Avenger’s 2014 comeback limited edition CD ‘The Slaughter Never Stops’. Soon to follow on vinyl as well, the re-issue features new cover art by Roberto Toderico (Tygers Of Pan Tang, Quartz, Mythra etc). The CD will hit the streets on 21 September, and the LP’s release date will be announced shortly.
