Hard-working London-based metal act Seven Sisters are proud to announce the recruitment of a new bassist, Gareth ‘Gaz’ Martin.
“He first contacted us through Facebook,” says guitarist/vocalist Kyle McNeill. “I think he’d heard of us through a mutual friend. Anyway, straight away we could tell he had the right attitude and after a couple of auditions we offered him the job. It’s still early days yet but he’s picking the material up really quickly and already adding his own twist to the parts.”
“I’ve been playing bass and gigging in the London circuit for over ten years,” adds Gaz, “and in that time have toured the UK and mainland Europe supporting the likes of Tesseract and Sepultura. Ironically, having grown up on a healthy diet of classic heavy metal, I’ve never been able to join such a band! Groove, hardcore, metalcore, ABBA tribute, you name it! So joining Seven Sisters gives me a real chance to flex my fingers once again, and sink my teeth into something that I’ve always had a soft spot for as well as the opportunity to show a new audience that I’m not the guy to stick at the back; I like to get in people’s faces and make sure they experience a live show as well as hear one, so I can’t wait to get on stage and in the studio with these lads!”
Kyle reckons the band couldn’t be happier. “Gaz is a brilliant bass player and a lovely chap. He’s the first actual bass player we’ve had, as both Javi and Adam are primarily guitarists. He brings a lot to the table with his sound and he’s raring to go on the gig front; we’re gonna come out of this sounding better than we ever have done. Also, he’s officially the seventh ’Sister. It must be a sign!”
The new line-up will be making their debut appearance at the Devonshire Arms, in Camden, London, on 9 February before heading off to Germany for the Metal Assault Festival the following weekend.
